Online fax software lets a business send and receive faxes without owning or maintaining a fax machine. With HoduPBX Fax, your team sends from tools they already use, and the recipient can collect the fax on a fax machine or in the HoduPBX portal. Nobody on the other end has to change equipment.
Behind every fax is a simple setup. A SIP trunking number is linked to a fax service or an extension, the tenant is enabled to dial out, and each extension is switched on for fax. From there, who can send, where they can send and who receives are all decided by the rules you set.

Cloud fax lets a business send and receive faxes through email, a mobile app or a web portal instead of a fax machine. HoduPBX Fax offers all three sending methods and delivers incoming faxes to email as PDF attachments, so teams avoid supplies, printing and machine upkeep.
Email2Fax is a HoduPBX solution that converts an outgoing email into a fax. Address the email to the fax number at your fax domain, for example [email protected]. Put your tenant ID plus extension number in the subject, such as 1000101, and attach the file. Text in the body prints on the cover sheet.
Fax2Email delivers a received fax to an email inbox instead of a fax machine. You share your assigned fax number with the sender, and the fax arrives as a PDF attachment at the email addresses set on your fax service. A confirmation email with the fax ID follows.
Email2Fax accepts .doc, .jpeg, .png and .pdf files. Faxes sent from the HoduPhone app or the web portal accept PDF files only. In all three methods you can select multiple files.
Yes, with App2Fax. Install the HoduPhone app from the App Store or Google Play, log in with your extension credentials, tap More, then Fax. Tap the send icon, enter the recipient number and a message, attach PDFs and send. Your extension needs access to the fax service.
Yes, with Web2Fax. Log in to the HoduPBX web portal and open Web2Fax from the left menu. Enter the fax number and message, upload one or more PDF files, and click Submit. The menu item appears when your extension has access to the fax service.
HoduPBX emails a confirmation when a fax is delivered, showing the page count and fax ID, and emails you if delivery fails. Every fax is also listed in the Fax Details report with type, status, reason, tries and time. Each file can be downloaded.
Yes. The Fax page in the HoduPhone app lists sent and received faxes for your extension. Tap the Resend icon on any entry, whether the fax succeeded or failed.
Yes. A fax service can hold multiple email addresses as fax destinations, and every fax received on that service goes to all of them.
When a fax number is mapped to an extension, HoduPBX evaluates each incoming call on that number to see whether it is a voice call or a fax. Fax calls are routed to fax delivery and sent to the email address set on the extension.
Yes. Fax and Dial-Out are switched on per extension, and a Fax Dial Rule Group limits which numbers each extension can fax. Fax must also be assigned to the tenant. For incoming faxes, the sender’s IP address is added to the ACL list.
